#Anno 1602 cd image iso#
With the ISO mounted, I lauch the game, try to start a game, close the no-CD error window, quit the game.
Thank you very much if you have an idea about what's happening. More specifically, the game can start whether the ISO image is mounted or not, but it does so in a different way : when the ISO is mounted there is an intro video and music at the main menu, but when it's unmounted there isn't, and that's logical because musics and videos stay on the CD.Īccording to previous discussion here there shouldn't be any fancy copy protection, just a CD-check. What puzzles me is that the CD check fails even though the game seems to find its way to the CD for content. Wine should know my /media/iso directory as a CDROM device (F: drive), and in the Anno 1602 section of the registery the CDROM line indicates this same drive. However, my Wine should be configured correctly, as far as the basic parameters are concerned. Installation worked fine and game starts, I can access the main menu, but I can't create a new game because I get a “please insert CDROM” error. I'm trying to play Anno 1602 Gold edition from an ISO image under Wine 1.6.2 (Ubuntu 14.04), so far without success.
